Explorers
In the Explorers room we believe in learning through play in a loving, nurturing and safe environment.
By the time an infant reaches the age of 18mths they have already achieved so many milestones. It is a busy and important time in the child’s life, and to achieve all of these skills they need security, stability, and the support and encouragement of caring educators.
We program for each child individually by observing each child, documenting their strengths and identify and set challenges they are ready for.
Activities and experiences are planned and implemented within the room and outside environment to stimulate and scaffold each of the individual developmental areas.
We believe that from birth, babies learn about their world using their senses: seeing, smelling, hearing, feeling & tasting. As they grow, children’s senses are their most familiar and most basic way to explore and process new information.
Sensory play enhances learning through hands-on activities that stimulate the child’s senses. This is a great way for children to explore the world they live in! Within our program sensory play is incorporated through lots of various activities such as water and sand play, finger painting, playdough, slime and lots more. We sometimes get dirty and messy during play but it is nothing that a wash and a change of clothes can’t fix.
Communication between educators and families is of most importance to us, strong relationships build a foundation of trust and a partnership paramount in creating an environment for all children where they feel safe, secure and supported.
We follow each individual child’s routine after a thorough orientation process so parents can be confident in our educators ability to identify their child’s needs.
